Pharmacy and Self Help

Many conditions, such as colds, can be managed at home without seeing the doctor. Your local pharmacist will be able to offer you advice on the best over-the-counter remedies or you can check yourself using Self Help

A receptionist will be able to help you with administrative issues. For example, you can request a prescription or request a renewal of a fit note by visiting the surgery, and get your test results by phone.

We offer a range of different appointments at the surgery:

Routine appointments and Clinics

Routine appointments are for problems or reviews that can wait to see the doctor of your choice when they are next available. The doctor can take the time to make a comprehensive assessment and management plan for you. We expect most appointments that you will need would be routine.

Please note that a routine appointment with a doctor lasts up to 10 minutes. We are committed to treating you holistically and thoroughly, so if the doctor cannot deal with all your problems in the time allocated you may be asked to book another appointment.

Appointments can be booked for up to 6 weeks ahead. Please review our Surgery Clinics to see if the practice offers your appointment type, and duration of appointment needed.

Urgent Sit & Wait Clinic – morning

The Urgent Sit & Wait Clinic is for an URGENT problem that cannot wait for a routine appointment and you can be seen on the day. Please do not use this clinic for issues that can be dealt with by reception, such as requesting a repeat prescription or a renewal of a fit note.

Anyone presenting with inappropriate issues will be advised to book a routine appointment.

You have to book with reception in the morning to attend this clinic. You will be advised of the clinic start time when you book and if you arrive after the clinic start time you may not be seen.

You will be seen by the Duty Doctor. You will have to wait your turn to see the doctor. You are seen in order of arrival and often the waiting times are quite long. We will deal with ONE urgent problem only.

Emergency appointments – afternoon

We have few appointments in the afternoon for an EMERGENCY problem that cannot wait for the next day. You have to book with reception to attend this clinic.

HCA/Nurse appointments

Appointments with the Nurse or HCA must be booked with reception because they have appointment of different types and durations.
